How do Business Angels invest in Poland?

According to the Cobin Angels report (prepared by COBIN Angels in cooperation with the Warsaw School of Economics, PKO Bank Polish, PFR Ventures and Domanski Zakrzewski Palinka (DZP),  the Polish angel investment market is still relatively young.

However, it is constantly growing and every year more and more investors decide to make this type of investment. Why can this type of investors be beneficial for a startup?

The purpose of such a report, in addition to presenting the profiles of investors, is to show statistics, trends, the impact of the market environment and prospects on the investor market.

What characterizes angel investments is flexibility. Investing private funds does not carry all the baggage of requirements and regulations that are characteristic of public funds. This is quite a great convenience for startups that want to close the round quickly, without getting into lengthy procedures and protracted processes. In addition, the added value is the knowledge and experience of Business Angels, who, on the one hand, have experience in running their own businesses, or draw on previously made investments that they helped to develop. Thanks to this, the startup can benefit from more personalized and dedicated assistance in specialized areas, they can also count on direct contact and the availability of the investor.

And how exactly can startups benefit from the support of Business Angels? You will find out in the full version of the Cobin Angels report "How do the best business angels in Poland invest? Polish angel investment market in 2023/2024", which you can download here:

In addition, in the report you can find statements from Wojciech Pysiewicz, who, together with Wojtek Mateusz Pysiewicz, were listed in the report as SuperAngels! He gives reasons for investing - a.o. a sense of agency, influence on shaping the market, but also admits to the sense of great responsibility and risk that comes with it.
