WP2 Investments - let's meet - Barbara Kudryńska

It's fascinating how, when talking to different founders, I see different approaches, different areas they pay attention to and different needs - says Basia Kudryńska, another representative of the WP Square team - the heroine of our "Let's get to know each other" series. Basia is responsible for the digital marketing area and supports you in this area as part of the ScaleUP Center.

What is the biggest advantage of working in a fund?

In my opinion, the biggest advantage of working in WP2 is the variety of projects. Until now, when I worked in a given company, all activities were focused on it. Of course, different activities were carried out for individual products/recipients, but still in the same industry. In the fund, it is completely different. The portfolio includes digital & tech, fintech, greentech companies and in them various industries, types of strategies, diverse products or services, and thus - often very different business approaches. It is fascinating how when talking to different founders, there is a different approach, different areas they pay attention to, different needs.

In which direction does everyday life at WP2 push you in terms of development, which professional areas does it develop in your case, what curiosity will they develop in other directions?

First of all, I care about gaining and organizing the knowledge I have and gaining new experiences. We have companies from various market areas in the portfolio of WP2 Investments. Starting activities for a particular company is a necessity to get acquainted with a given market, industry, specifics of activities, target customer - in such a way as to best select the recommended activities for its needs. It is still a big challenge for me, I am still learning, but it is also a unique opportunity to gain knowledge. Knowledge squared :)

There are a lot of different projects going on around me. Broad, long-term project planning, division of work into individual companies, arranging a calendar, and the ability to switch thinking from one project to another are becoming much more important.

What is completely new to me and I hope will allow me to acquire and develop new competences is scaling businesses abroad. I have not had experience in digital marketing in markets outside of Poland so far, and thanks to my work at WP2, I am slowly getting into it.

How can companies benefit from your competences/projects/ideas?

As part of the ScaleUP Center, I manage part of Digital Marketing, including, a. o., areas:

  • websites
  • marketing processes
  • social media
  • performance marketing
  • marketing communication

If you have any needs in any of these areas, please contact me. I will try to help conceptually or indicate a proven partner for cooperation.

What interesting things do you do outside of work?

On a daily basis I try to swap mental effort for physical one, as long as it's outdoors, so I run, walk, do a lot of gardening. I like the end of summer, because that's when mushroom picking starts, which I love. When it comes to traditional recreation, I go to our Polish Baltic Sea. I try to be there at least once a year.
