Development of Value Added Services at GoPay
Recent months at GoPay – one of WP2's portfolio companies, operating in the Smart City area – have been marked on the one hand by organizing the project portfolio and cutting costs in unprofitable projects, and on the other hand by discovering a new space of opportunities, which are Value Added Services (VAS).
- In the well-known area of Smart City, we have consciously focused on serving key cities, promoting our products and making the most of existing implementations - says Krzysztof Całka, CEO of GoPay. - We have paused less profitable projects, focusing on increasing our cash turnover. The effect achieved thanks to this is about PLN 2 million in monthly turnover in the Smart City segment, with an average monthly number of tickets sold at the level of about 180,000 units.
In the Smart City segment, the list of product goals that can help in faster scaling is long – and GoPay has definitely not said the last word here yet. - We have learned to be patient in this area, because we know that our technical and market knowledge and the built system are solid. We will be ready to use this experience at the right time - emphasizes K. Całka. - Despite the reduction in resources, we maintain our customer base, we are conducting further integrations in cities and we have implemented a ticket wholesaler, starting cooperation with a new, large partner. This is an important step towards VAS – we can now make ticket sales available in other apps for each of our current partners, and the range of possibilities has expanded significantly again.
Value Added Services from GoPay – a.o. for partner companies from the group, such as Verestro or Quicko – in the areas of insurance, loyalty programs and ticket services, open a new chapter in the company's development. - At this stage, we mainly engage business resources, reducing IT expenses. We look for suppliers, develop cooperation models and direct offers to partners – explains the CEO of GoPay. – We are very careful about the implementation and launch of new projects – we launch them only when we see the real potential for revenue and scaling in the entire group.
